Q: Can my boss reduce my hours?
A. First of all you need to look at your contract. It will state your minimum hours per week and they cannot unilaterally alter that contract without you agreeing.
If your boss would like to implement a change that affects your rostered hours of work, they must consult with you and ask whether you agree.
Consultation means that you and your representatives (a union delegate, friend or chosen support person) are given information and are given the opportunity to respond about how the change will impact you.
